Site Frequently Asked Question
Return to NAWC (Continental Overview)
1. How do I set my location preference on the site?
In order to serve you better, we have to obtain your location details and language details. With these details provided, we can provide your local forecast in-depth in your preferred language. You can select your location preference at our National Page, the Canadian Overview Page, and the United States Overview Page. Your information will not be shared with anyone. If you prefer not to disclose your location details, you can use our continental overview (suitable for the entire North America). You can always change this setting throughout the site.

The site preference also requires you to choose between graphics and text versions. To differentiate these settings, check out FAQ question #2.
2. What does it mean by "Graphics" and "Text" Versions?
We have two versions of this site: Text and Graphics. This is to ensure that you get the fastest speed and the nicest appearance of our site possible.

We recommend you use the Graphics Version if:
- You are using Windows XP SP 1 or above, or Mac OS X (all versions)
- You have Firefox 2 or above, Internet Explorer 7 or above, Opera, Google Chrome 1 or above
- You have a screen resolution of at least 1154 by 860 or above.
- You are on high speed internet connection (56.0/48.0 kbit/s speed or higher)

We recommend you use the text version if:
- You are using Windows 2000 or below, or Mac OS 9 or below
- You have Safari 1 or above, Firefox 1, Internet Explorer 6 or below, Google Chrome Public Beta (Pre-1 versions)
- You have a screen resolution lower than 1154 by 860.
- You are on a dial-up internet connection (56.0/48.0 kbit/s speed or lower)

3. Why Can't I find local radar maps on this website?
At this time, NAWC doesn't have local radar maps on the website. We are currently doing our best to get Local U.S. Radars in our "Maps" Database. We hope to have Local U.S. Radars up on the website As Soon As Possible. NAWC does have Local Radar Maps for Canada up on the website. To view these Maps, Go to the Canadian Overview Page, Select Your Province or Territory, and on that page you will find the current radar closest to your designated area.
4. Why is the Text and Graphics on the website not where they are supposed to be?
There are two possible reasons for this malfunctioning to occur on NAWC. The First, we are currently editing the website and are moving things around. If this is the case, we will have everything in place shortly. Second, the browser you are currently on is not fully compatible with NAWC. We Recommend the Following Internet Browsers; Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Google Chrome.
5. The FAQ section did not answer my question. What should I do?
You can e-mail us at questions.nawc@yahoo.com.
